Spark: Once Upon a Jar

Stephen Sheehan is a performer, director and theatre maker who is known for his creation of small-scale comic theatre works. His self-authored works include Stevl and his Translator Fatima (Adelaide Fringe Best Comedy) and Steve Sheehan’s Tristan and Isolde (2015 Adelaide Cabaret Festival) with a cast that included a miniature horse. He has worked with numerous SA theatre companies and his performance work includes Slingsby Theatre’s Tragical Life of Cheeseboy, and Patch Theatre’s Pigs, Bears and Billy Goats Gruff, Special Delivery and Cranky Bear as well as SA State Theatre’s End of the Rainbow, Twlefth Night and Waiting for Godot. He has directed sketch comedy troupes The Golden Phung and Gravity Boots and performance poet Caroline Reid in Siarad. He studied music at the Sydney Conservatorium before graduating from Flinders Drama Centre and has pursued further training at Ecole Philippe Gaulier (UK) and the Theatre Resource Centre, Toronto. 

Astrid is a performer/theatre maker and teacher who works predominantly on collaborative, new works. She has worked with most South Australian companies and many independent artists. She co-created and performed in Me & My Shadow, Emily Loves to Bounce, Mr McGee and the Biting Flea and performed in Sharon Keep Ya Hair On and Pigs, Bears, Billy Goats Gruff for Patch Theatre. For Ladykillers Astrid wrote and performed in the award winning Cake, The Pyjama Girl and Based on a True Story. She has also worked extensively with Restless Dance and Vitalstatistix. Astrid sang for the re-score of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis for Sydney Opera House, Mona Foma, AFF & Fed. Square. She runs workshops for arts organisations and schools. Astrid is currently working on an original solo work – WIDOW WEIRDO with long term collaborators Ingrid Voorendt and Zoe Barry.
